Chemistry HSC Tutoring

This is exciting.

There is a reason why Chemistry is one of the most popular subject besides English & Mathematics.

About our Chemistry tutors:

Below are areas that our HSC Chemistry tutors have in common:

  • Our tutors have all achieved a Chemistry mark of at least 95 or above (External & Internal)

  • You can find them either have over 3 years of tutoring experience, university science graduates or working in the field science.

  • We are apply theory in the context of everyday life.

  • We are advocates of lifelong learning - something that is important to have regardless of where you are or will be.

  • Our passionate tutors are selected after having demonstrated passion in helping students before becoming mentors.

HSC Chemistry Course Structure:

Year 12 Chemistry:

Intro Session - 1 Hour

  • All new students will have an intro session with tutors for goal setting.

  • The tutor will sit down with the student to map out a tailored course structure to best suit student’s progress.

  • This session also allows the tutor to understand areas in which the students wishes to enhance or improve on.

Module 5 - 2 Sessions

  • There are a total of 4 inquiry questions per module.

  • Each session will address 3 learning objectives under each .

  • Module 5 is expected to be completed in 4.5 sessions.

  • Session 1: We will take a look into closed and open systems & equilibrium reactions at the eye level.

  • Session 2: Diving deeper from Session 1, we look into the atomic and molecular levels of equilibrium reactions.

Module 6 - 4 Sessions

  • Lesson 1: Elaborating on Module 5, we take a look deeper into acid and bases and how they interact including equilibria.

  • Lesson 2: We take a look into atomic & molecular theories that surround how acid and bases

  • Lesson 3 & 4: We dive into analysis how to determine the quantity, concentration and nature of acids and bases through experiments.

Module 7 - 7 Sessions

  • Session 1: This will be a fun session where students first get a look into the world of organic chemistry and what it involves.

  • Session 2 & 3: Tutors will take students through the most fundamental building blocks of organic substances and how it has affects the properties & applications of the parent compound.

  • Session 4: Students will learn about organic chemical reactions - ranging from halogenation, substitution to addition & condensation.

  • Session 5: We dive deep into the world of organic chemistry and study the class of ‘Alcohols’

  • Session 6: Expanding on Module 6, this class will explore reactions of organic acids and bases.

  • Session 7: We wrap up organic chemistry by looking into Polymers and how it makes up common items that we use everyday.

Module 8 - 4 Sessions

  • Session 1 & 2: Students will get to know about inorganic substances - what they are and why they are important to be measured.

  • Session 3: Similar to inorganic substance measurement in real world applications, we take a look into measuring and identifying organic substances

  • Session 4: As the final part of Module 8, students will learn about how to perform Chemical Synthesis which is an area that is also later further explored in university.

Module Final - Mock HSC exams

  • To help students prepare for HSC exams, tutors will sit with students to explore tailored exam questions to tackle areas that students will face when doing the test this year.
