Module 5 - Heredity - 5 Sessions
Session 1: We will look through the means in which continuity of a species is achieved within and between populations.
Session 2: We explore the topic of DNA replication and how it is essential for the continuity of a species.
Session 3: We will look into how DNA is activated or expressed in living orgasms.
Session 4: Here students will learn why and what genetic variations exists within a living population
Session 5: This lesson covers heredity pattern forecasting within a living population.
Module 6 - 5 Sessions
Session 1: The student will look into the concept of alleles and mutations. Moreover, how these affect the continuity of a species.
Session 2: The lesson will focus on genetic coding and non-coding and how it affects mutation.
Session 3: Here we take a look into what is biotechnology and its use cases.
Session 4 & 5: Finally we take a look into how humans can use technology to manipulate genetic materials.
Module 7 - 5 Sessions
Session 1: This module sets the tone on the topic of ‘Infectious Diseases’. Here, we look into the different types of pathogens which are responsible for infectious diseases.
Session 2: We take a look how pathogens are able to cause infectious diseases.
Session 3: Tutors will take students through the effects of living organisms when they are exposed to diseases.
Session 4 & 5: We finish the module 7 with a look into the human’s immune system as a defence mechanism against infectious disease. We also explore how prevention, treatment and controlling infectious diseases look like in our world.
Module 8 - 4.5 Sessions
Session 1: We look into why homeostasis is important.
Session 2: We take a look into non-infectious diseases and why they are more deadly than infectious diseases explored in Module 7.
Session 3: Here the tutor will take on the topic of Epidemiology - what it is and why it is used today.
Session 4: Similar to infectious diseases, we look into how non-infectious diseases can be prevented.
Session 5: To wrap it all up, we finish off with modern technologies that supports people with non-infectious diseases.
